Xoldiers Review

Rating:

A well known and respected independent developer, small soldiers, big explosions, strategy elements, and a quirky general to motivate you. Sounds like a recipe for success...and destruction!

Xoldiers is an oldy but a goodie from the developer of VVVVVV.

Island Hopping Review

Rating:

What if Canabalt was an FPS? Island Hopping is a great title that basically answers that question. Augmented with an exhilarating scoring system and unique visual minimalism, this is one excellent arcade game that just leaves you in search of that high score

Beautiful Escape: Dungeoneer Review

Rating:

I've never played a low res game that has gotten me this disturbed before. Dungeoneer is both a clever puzzle game and a psychological thriller paying homage to torture porn like Saw and Hostel that should be on everyone's must-play list for this summer.

Where We Remain Review

Rating:

Where We Remain is a queer adventure game that reminds me of the old Atari Adventure - Learning how to play is part of the game's charm. However, the adventure part ends once you learn the rules, and quickly degenerates into a score grubbing arcade title.

IdolCraft Review

Rating:

IdolCraft baffles me in almost every way. I'm not even sure if I played it right. I doubt I'm it's target audience, but I still find it hard to recommend to other human beings.

The Amazing Launchman Review

Rating:

Launchman is a simple game that twists one traditional aspect of platformers - you can't jump, but you can launch yourself in any direction. This very basic premise creates an entertaining title that just screams for more levels.

DarkVerse (Demo) Review

Rating:

The only thing keeping this open-ended space shooter from 5 stars is the fact that is an incomplete DEMO. The complete game should be mind blowing.

Flowearty Review

Rating:

Flowearty follows in the tradition of games like Crayon Physics, but instead of drawing shapes, you copy and paste existing geometry to reach the goal. However, the inadequate instructions betray this clever mechanic and make learning to play difficult.

Island Planet! Review

Rating:

Another in our series of Ludum Dare #17 reviews, Island Planet! is a grand idea that suffers from lack of polish, from lack of time.

Soundfight Review

Rating:

I'm always excited to review experimental concepts - its never about they achieve, but what they discover. Soundfight is a game that does this in an attempt to pit songs against each other in a shooter framework, but loses much "game-ness" in the process.
